"Do not be like the horse or mule..."

One of my prayers for 2009 is to be "cured" of a "famine of hearing" from God (that voice that came from the back of my mind) and His word.

I think recently He is speaking to me through His words in Psalm 32:8-9:

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with Mine eye. Be ye not as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding, whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they not come near unto thee."

God reminded me this verse last Sunday during service and I came back and searched for it. Sigh, I had concluded before I am rather "thick-headed" like the donkey - some lessons I learn and learn again but never seem to master them. And I am stubborn like the horse too. How to change? So hard for leopard to change its spots.

I remember telling God - bridle me by Your Spirit. Ya, bridle me God. Thankfully His eye is still on me and He is still beckoning for me to draw near. Our God is truly a LONG-SUFFERING GOD.
